Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver

This is a review for Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver.  This is a good bass bait for spawning and Early Fall time.  The bait falls nicely, and there is a slot in the middle that hides your EWG worm hook, making it good to use in weeds.  At $3.99 the price is right.  You may need to add a finishing nail or 1/16 oz bullet weight to this lure to make it sink faster should you choose.  I would pick up the Yamamoto Flappin' Hawg over the Sweet Beaver if you don't mind paying a bit more of the lure.  The Hawg falls better, has more legs and arms, and tends to garner more strikes head to head with the Beaver.  Overall, this is a decent lure that will help bag you some lunkers with the conditions are right.

Strike King Perfect Plastic Sinking Worms

I used the Strike King Perfect Plastic Sinking Worms tonight, and hammered the largemouth at Hayden Lake.  I wacky rigged them with a size 2 wacky hook from Cabelas.  This new plastic bait is awesome, and sinks without a weight.  They are cheaper than senkos at $3.99 for a pack of 8.  The colors are bold, and the bait falls nicely.  Use these in early June, and fall.

The Flappin' Hog

I had the first opportunity to try out a Flappin' Hog by Yamamoto today.  It actually out produced my Senko on the shore line.  I ran the shore once with the Senko, catching 7 Bass, and once with the Flappin' Hog catching 15 bass!  I bought them in 5" size with Green Pumpkin color speckled with purple flake.  You can buy a pack of them at Black Sheep for about $5.  Each pack comes with 7 lures.  Make sure you give the fish enough time to really take it in before setting the hook.  Texas Rig them weightless with a 1/0 EWG wormhook with offset shank.
